South Island Food Trucks (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an online marketplace platform at sifoodtrucks.nz that connects food truck operators with event organisers and customers across Te Waipounamu / the South Island of New Zealand. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to enter into these terms on behalf of any business you represent.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@sifoodtrucks.nz if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Food truck operators may subscribe to one of the following plans:
Subscriptions are billed monthly and may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.
A non-refundable platform booking fee of $4.99 NZD is charged to customers on each confirmed booking. Platform commission (as per the operator’s subscription tier) is deducted from the operator’s deposit payout. The remaining 75% final payment is transacted directly between the operator and customer with no platform fee.
A deposit of 25% of the total booking value is required to confirm a booking. Deposits are processed by card payment through our secure payment provider (Stripe). Deposits are non-refundable once paid. This protects operators against last-minute cancellations. Customers are advised to consider this before confirming payment.
In the event of an operator cancellation, the deposit will be refunded in full to the customer. Refund processing times depend on the customer’s card issuer (typically 5–10 business days).
Customer cancellations: Deposits are non-refundable. The $4.99 booking fee is non-refundable. If you wish to cancel, contact the operator directly through the messaging system.
Operator cancellations: Operators who cancel a confirmed booking must refund the customer’s deposit in full. Repeated cancellations may result in suspension from the platform.
Operators are responsible for ensuring their listings are accurate, including pricing, availability, and service offerings. Operators must hold all required New Zealand business registrations, food safety certificates, and public liability insurance. South Island Food Trucks is not liable for any loss arising from an operator’s failure to comply with applicable laws or regulations.
South Island Food Trucks acts as an intermediary marketplace only. We are not a party to the contract between operator and customer. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any food truck service listed on the platform. Disputes between operators and customers must be resolved directly between those parties.
Reviews may only be submitted by customers who have completed a booking. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that contain offensive, defamatory, or fraudulent content.
All platform content, design, and code is owned by South Island Food Trucks. Operators retain ownership of their own listing content (photos, descriptions) but grant us a non-exclusive licence to display this content on the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, South Island Food Trucks is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the fees paid by you to us in the three months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or via a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
